Privacy Policy

Last updated: 25 July 2026

Jayamini Transport Service ("we", "us", "jayamini.com") operates this website so that passengers can reserve seats on our bus services. We are committed to protecting the privacy and security of the personal information you give us when you make a reservation. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with and how long we keep it. By using this website or making a reservation through it, you consent to the practices described here. This policy should be read together with our Terms and Conditions.

Information We Collect

1. Reservation details you give us. To hold a seat we need the passenger's name, a contact mobile number, the boarding point, the journey date and the seats selected. An email address is optional and is used only to send you a copy of your booking confirmation. We do not ask for your National Identity Card number, date of birth or address in order to make a booking.

2. Payment information. Where a reservation is paid for by bank deposit, we record the payment reference number and the fare so that the deposit can be matched to your booking. Where an online card payment facility is offered on this website, the payment is completed on the secure page of our payment gateway, PayHere. Card numbers, CVV codes and banking passwords are never entered on jayamini.com, and we neither see nor store them. We receive only the outcome of the transaction and a reference number.

3. Technical and browsing information. Like most websites, our servers and our analytics tools automatically record information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, the pages you viewed and the date and time of your visit. This is collected using cookies and similar technologies, and is used in aggregate to understand how the site is used.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information collected for the following purposes:

  • To create, confirm and manage your seat reservation, and to reserve the specific seats you selected for the journey date you selected.
  • To send you the booking confirmation by SMS and, where you have given an email address, by email.
  • To contact you about your journey — for example if a bus is delayed, rescheduled or cancelled, to confirm a bank deposit, or to process a cancellation and refund.
  • To verify passengers at the time of boarding against the seat manifest.
  • To answer your questions and to handle complaints, refund requests and other customer support enquiries.
  • To detect and prevent fraudulent bookings, seat-blocking, abuse of the website and other unauthorised activity.
  • To keep the accounting and tax records that we are required by law to maintain.
  • To understand how the website is used, so that we can improve our routes, schedules and the booking experience.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your mobile number for marketing messages that are unrelated to a journey you have booked.

Information Sharing

We do not sell, trade or rent your personal information. We share it only in the following circumstances:

  • Our bus crew and booking staff. The passenger name, seat numbers, boarding point and contact number appear on the seat manifest used by the conductor and by our booking counter staff.
  • SMS gateway. Booking confirmations are delivered through a third-party messaging provider, which necessarily receives the mobile number and the text of the message.
  • Payment service providers. Where an online card payment facility is used, our payment gateway PayHere receives the payment details and the booking reference, processes the payment and returns the result to us. PayHere's handling of your card details is governed by its own privacy policy.
  • Analytics providers. We use Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager to measure website traffic. These services collect the technical and browsing information described above.
  • Hosting and technical service providers. The companies that host our website and database store the data on our behalf and act only on our instructions.
  • Legal requirements. We may disclose information where we are required to do so by law, by a court order, or by a lawful request from the police or a regulatory authority, and where it is necessary to establish or defend a legal claim.

Service providers acting on our behalf are required to keep your information secure and confidential, and to use it only for the purpose for which we provided it.

How Long We Keep Your Information

Reservation records are retained after the journey date so that we can deal with refund requests, complaints, disputes and our accounting obligations. Where we no longer need to identify you personally, we keep only aggregated travel statistics.

Data Security

We apply reasonable, industry-standard measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or destruction. The website is served over an encrypted connection, access to booking records is restricted to authorised staff, and payment card details are never entered on or stored by this website. However, please be aware that no method of transmission over the internet or of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your Rights

You may ask us to:

  • tell you what personal information we hold about you;
  • correct information that is inaccurate — for example a misspelt name or a wrong mobile number on a booking;
  • delete information that we no longer need to keep; and
  • stop sending you messages that are not required to deliver a journey you have booked.

Please contact us using the details below. So that we do not disclose a booking to the wrong person, we may ask you to confirm the booking reference and the mobile number used to make the reservation before we act on your request. Some information cannot be deleted while it is still needed for an upcoming journey or for our legal and accounting records.

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in to your booking session, to remember the seats you have selected while you complete a reservation, to keep the booking form secure against cross-site request forgery, and to analyse website traffic. You can disable cookies through your browser settings, but please note that the seat selection and booking process will not work correctly without them.

Children

This website is not intended for use by children. Bookings should be made by an adult, who may of course include children travelling with them as passengers on the reservation.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update or modify this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised "last updated" date. We encourage you to review this page periodically to stay informed about how we collect, use and protect your information.
